After receiving my teaching diploma from the Alliance Française de Paris, I worked at the Alliance Française de Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania) for 2 years, at the Alliance Française de Cape Town (South Africa) for 3 years and at the French School of Cape Town for 2 years. When I returned to France, I worked at Aralia in Albi as a teacher of basic skills (reading, writing, speaking, counting). I have been a FLEI teacher for 8 years now. I have taught complete beginners, advanced levels, illiterate students, children, teenagers and adults. As an exam coordinator I also developped a DELF preparation course.
After all this experience, I have now decided to continue my work by giving private lessons near my village and online. Below you will find details of my courses. METHODOLOGY
NEEDS AND KNOWLEDGE
First meeting
We'll arrange a 30-minute first meeting to get to know each other a bit and discuss your needs. If you are not a complete beginner I will evaluate your current level of French with a short test. This step is essential for me to understand what you already know and what you would like to learn. This is your class, I am just here to help you achieve your goals.
MY WAY OF TEACHING
Using what you already know
If you are learning French, you already know one or several other languages. I like to use what you already know in order for you to become more independent with the French language. I am not a big fan of the "French"only" method. For me, it is necessary to understand the structure of the language to gain autonomy. This is why I use our common language (English)* to explain grammar and syntax. For vocabulary, however, I avoid translating as far as possible, instead using examples, mimes, sounds or images to make the meaning clear.

TRUST AND RESPONSIBILITY
Be involved in your learning process
I won't blame you if you don't do your exercises; we are not at school anymore and we all lead busy lives. I will give you all the tools you need to improve but you also need you to put in the effort from your side. You need to make time for French, be on time for our lessons, be happy to learn, practice outside of class... Learning a language won't work if you are not active in your learning. So, trust me and I'll trust you.

I can help you become more independent if you need French for meetings, for travel in French-speaking countries or even for communicating with French clients. CONVERSATION
Private Tutoring per 30 minute slot
To learn a language, we need to practice it. If you already know the basics of the French language and would like to focus more on conversational skills, then my conversation class is perfect for you. Using everyday topics, articles or videos, you will develop your speaking skills in order to better express your ideas, improve pronunciation and participate confidently in French conversations.

EXAM PREPARATION
Private Tutoring per hour
I will help you understand what is expected for each exercise and develop useful techniques for the listening, reading and writing tests. You will practice the speaking exam with me using real exam topics. Depending on your level and needs, we can work on the exam as a whole or only one aspect, it's up to you. I can help you to prepare for the DELF exam (A1, A2, B1, B2) but also for a TEF exam or TCF exam.
